My mom’s getting pretty good at getting up before the sun to take me for walkies now, even though she’s still allergic to mornings. 🙂
I’m pretty sure she is sleep walking when we first leave. That’s ok, it gives me time to work on learning sign language.
Here’s a sign I saw this morning, for example…
I think it means that the children in this area can’t run very fast when they play ball. I’ll have to be careful if they want to play ball with me, ’cause I run REALLY fast! I wouldn’t want to accidentally run over them.
Today we walked through the neighborhood to get to a field.
We’ve had temperatures over 100 degrees (F) during the day, but sometimes it drops to the 60’s at night. Extremely weird.
It’s scaring the trees so badly that they’re dropping their leaves, even though it’s not fall.
Poor little scared trees. I hope they don’t become a petrified forest out of fear.
Anyhow, we got to the field and had fun walking all around in the grass there.
Here’s a tree tunnel that I like to walk through.
We walked a couple of miles and then headed home.
On the way, I stopped by my friend Llama’s house to say hi.
I don’t know his name yet, but I think it might be Tony.
As usual, I dragged Mom home at warp speed because she doesn’t even give me breakfast before we leave. I make her pay for not feeding me first, bwahaha!

OMD… a TREE TUNNEL. Super cool. Do your ears fit under it?
Tony is really funny lookin. I think you should break him out of dar and you two can play together (Behr and da Llama).

We only go through tunnels mom can fit through without crawling, so the ears are good to go.
I’d love to play with Tony! Mom said he likes to spit though, and that would be gross. I guess it would be yucky walking around with Llama slobber all over me.

Our mommy is allergic to mornings too! Even though your mom wasn’t awake, looks like you enjoyed your early morning adventure!

What is it with moms anyhow? She even says things like, “If every day is a gift, where can I return Mondays?” I don’t get it. Is there a Monday store?
It’s ok, gives me time to think about the meaning of all the yellow signs we see, since she’s too tired to explain them to me.

Oh Behr Behr. I love the intelligent and inquisitive way you LOOK at your surroundings.
And the way your Mom is able to capture your thoughts and share them with us.
I also appreciate you linking to other posts, since it helps me find *other* times in your life when you’ve made more sense than us silly humans, since I’ve only found your insightful blog recently.
And I sure understand your need to get home because you haven’t been fed yet! My MacKenzie says “thank you for explaining it so clearly!!!!!” (Psst … please don’t tell her I know why she’s pulling on the leash. I like to let her think she’s fooling me.)

There is a downside to her knowing what I’m thinking, though. I can’t get away with ANYTHING around here!
Your MacKensie is a smart girl! We both know what’s most important…FOODIES!!!
I have to put on my brakes and refuse to walk if we’re not headed home sometimes. Works like a charm!
Mom pulls out some snacks to bribe me 🙂 That’s how I fuel my walk on an empty stomach. She doesn’t know I’ve figured the system out though 🙂

Behr, you are such a lucky girl! Your walk looked like something that Charlie, Cali, and I would enjoy so much! As a matter of fact, it’s so hot that we can’t get up early enough to enjoy outside. C’mon, Winter (we don’t have Fall, either)!!!

Yeah, Mom studies the weather report to see what time she has to finish our walk before it’s too hot. Some days it’s never cool enough, so we don’t get to go.
Winter? Yeah, I think that was on a Thursday last year. If even then. No real seasons around here either.
Wish we could have had walkies like that together with our pups. Would have been fun.

That tree tunnel is arooootiful! We’re also have odd weather down here in South Africa, one day it is warm and summery and the next it’s raining (we don’t get winter rain) and freezing.
